| I am retired from the USDA - Forest Service.
First 10 years on the Gifford Pinchot National Forest then 25 years on the
Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. For ten years on the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest I lived on Snoqualmie Pass where I was the "Snow Ranger" for all of the ski areas. My duties included lift and area safety inspections, avalanche control, and overall ski area administration. The next 5 years I was the Recreation Assistant for the North Bend Ranger District. My duties were overall recreation management on the ranger district; campgrounds, trails, Wilderness, ski area administration, and was on one of the Forest Service National ICS fire teams (and like many other jobs - "other duties as assigned"). The last five years before retirement I worked in the Forest Supervisors office of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest in Seattle. There my duties included trails management, wilderness management, winter sports management and management of the NW Weather and Avalanche Center at Sand Point. After retirement I started "Mtn. Recreation Mgt." which specializes in (what else) outdoor recreation. Some of projects have included consulting for ski area planning, avalanche hazard and control training, avalanche awareness training, avalanche planning and assessment. I have also volunteered for special projects with the Forest Service working on wilderness management, wilderness fire assessment, wilderness database construction and intranet and internet site designs. These projects have been in Oregon, Washington and California. In order to become more diversified and broaden the scope of business opportunities I, like many others, have turned to the "internet". The internet is fast becoming the tool for advertising, selling, buying and so on. To quote many experts, "if your business doesn't have a web page you won't be around for very long". |
|
While I still have my old business (Mt. Recreation Mgt.) I have started a company called Northwest Webwerks. A full service web page construction and management company catering to small businesses. I can "put you on the web" without it costing you a fortune. I will beat any price by at least 10% To check out some of my layout and designs go to my Northwest Webwerks page.
